Stories enable customers to subscribe for updates in a specific feed. Each story is a flow that takes the customer from content, through product placement, to checkout. When a customer subscribes to updates in a feed, they receive a notification to check for new stories according to the feed schedule. For example, "Alexa, ask Beauty Direct for the daily beauty tip". In this example, Beauty Direct publishes stories to their feed, beauty tips, on a daily basis.
Each story has:
- name, for internal purposes
- content (optional)
- image (optional)
- product promotion (optional)
- discount (optional)
When a customer asks to listen to a story, they will be read the teaser. The teaser ends with a yes/no question that prompts the customer to continue listening. When the customers says yes, they continue listening to the story's content. If the story has a product promotion, the customer will be asked whether or not they'd like to purchase the product after listening to the story. You can configure this question when adding a product to your story.
Each story belongs to a feed. The feed has a name, a list of triggers, a schedule, and a custom reminder. The feed name and list of triggers will be used in conjunction with the feed activation command, namely:
- Alexa, ask Beauty Direct for the daily beauty tip
The activation command can be used with different schedules, for example:
- Alexa, ask Beauty Direct for the weekly beauty tip
- Alexa, ask Beauty Direct for the latest beauty tip
Lastly, the reminder text will be used to notify customers, according to the configured schedule, to check for new stories in the feed. The default is:
- "Check for the daily beauty tip. Just say: 'Ask Beauty Direct for the daily beauty tip'"
